Mary Brumley Morrow

March 13, 1920 — July 21, 2005

Mrs. Mary Irene Brumley Morrow, 85, a resident of Greenwood Ave. in Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, July 21, 2005 at NHC Columbia.

Funeral service for Mrs. Morrow will be conducted Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Thomas and Viola Perry Brumley and widow of Manley W. Morrow, former Mt. Pleasant Police Chief. Mrs. Morrow was the former owner/operator of the Maury Café in Mt. Pleasant, longtime waitress at the Rebel Truck Stop and several other restaurants in the Mt. Pleasant area. She enjoyed canning and was an avid quilter. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by a son, James E. ?Jim? Pierce of Columbia; a brother, Bobby Ray Barbara Brumley of Mt. Juliet, TN; three grandchildren, Diane L. Griggs of Columbia, James E. ?Jamie? Pierce, Jr. and Tina Marie Nicky Hodge, both of Mt. Pleasant; six great grandchildren, Colton Griggs, Adam Allen and Kristen Allen, all of Columbia, Ashlyn Craig, Kyle Craig and Cole Hodge, all of Mt. Pleasant; a special niece, Kathy Jo Kilburn of Lawrenceburg; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Leon Brumley and three sisters, Vera Parsley, Helen Craig and Elizabeth Attkisson. A special thanks to Jim and Geri Cole for their love and support to our family.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Brumley, Nicky Ray Hodge, Joey Hargrove, Todd Fields, Jim Cole, Kyle Craig, Adam Allen and Mike Shaffer.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 202 S. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
