Mary Alice Staggs

Mrs. Mary Alice Brown Staggs, age 86, a resident of Figures Avenue in Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, August 12th, 2009, at NHC/Healthcare.
Funeral services for Mrs. Staggs will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dickey Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born August 1, 1923 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Will and Mary Lindsey Brown. She was the widow of Noble Staggs. Mary Alice worked for Washington Manufacturing Company for 35 years and retired from Maury Regional Hospital where she worked in the food line and as a cashier in the cafeteria for 15 years. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include her children: Charles Sharon Staggs of Nashville and Randy Glenda Staggs of Columbia; grandchildren: Renae Mark Coleman of Franklin, Cam Casie Staggs of Lewisburg, Kendall Staggs and Crissa Staggs, both of Columbia; great-grandchildren: Riley and Cayson Coleman, Kailee Staggs, Tyler Staggs, Madison Staggs, Meredith Thomas and Dillon Thomas; sisters: Mildred Henry Davis, Ruth Finley and Rachel Scott, all of Nashville and a brother: Lester Brown of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by one son: Arnold Ray Staggs and three brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers will be Cam Staggs, Kendall Staggs, Jay Davis, James Richard Brown, Eddie Wayne Whitwell and Ronnie Staggs.
