Martie Thompson, age 86 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Martie was born October 11, 1928 in Pitken, Louisiana to James and Dilla Ray Thompson. Martie married the love of his life, Billie Williams Thompson, on June 11, 1956. He was a retired Millwright and a member of Carpenter’s and Millwright Local #764. Martie loved his family with all of his heart. He raised his children with a deep faith in Christ as our Savior. He was a Choir Leader with his wife, who played the piano, at Occupy Baptist Church.
Martie is survived by his wife, Billie Thompson, children, Kathy Spencer of Conway, Ark., Ritchie (Donna) Thompson of Bossier City, Louisiana, Marty F. Thompson of Bossier City, Louisiana; step daughter, Pam Fudge; seven grandchildren, one sister, Betty Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Micah Thompson, Micah Seth Thompson, Neil Thompson, Truman Friday, and Richard Ardoin.
