Martha Ross Lovett, age 85, of Columbia, passed away on November 25, 2019, at Lifecare Center of Columbia.
Martha was born on June 2, 1934, in Ardmore, Alabama, to the late Odie Melvin Jones and Lillie Marie Tillery Jones. She was a hard worker. Martha spent many years at Tennessee Knitting Mills before going to work for Albertson’s Deli, where she would later retire from. She attended Acts Family Church. Her talent for sewing and embroidery was more than impressive. While she loved all plants and flowers often having a courtyard full, her favorites were red roses and tulips. Martha was passionate about having her family together, sharing a meal with them, and most likely preparing it for them. More than anything, she loved her children and grandchildren. She loved to dress up for holidays.
Martha is survived by daughters: Edwina Goatz, Wanda Pope, and Carrie (Sandy) Lovett; son: William (Cheryl) Lovett; grandsons: Michael (Annette) Sullivan, Anthony Pope, Jr., and Ryan Coutermarsh; granddaughters: Lori (Ray) Evans, Tammy (Russ) Richardson, Caitlinn Lovett, Celseay Hines, Carley Lovett, and Casey Coutermarsh; great-grandsons: Jackson Evans, Dylan & Dalton Ward, Aiden Hickman, and Lincoln Prince; great-granddaughters: Marilyn Sullivan, Marti Sullivan, Adia Lovett, and Huntleigh Hines; siblings: Gladys Sisco and Sherry (Carl) Owens. She was preceded in death by husband: Roy Payne.
