Martha Louise Lemay

November 14, 1928 — June 6, 2009

Mrs. Martha Louise Lemay, age 80, loving wife of 63 years went to be with her Jesus on June 6, 2009 and was lovingly, called Ma-Maw by all who knew her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lemay will be conducted Tuesday June 9, at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Herb Helton and Rev. Gene Shelton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until service time.

She was a native of Hickman County, born on November 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Cass and Lena Cates Tidwell and the wife of Campbell Mahlon Lemay. She was a retired Bus Driver from Maury County Board of Education and currently employed at Kid Kountry Learning Center for the past 14 years. She was a member of the Cross Bridges Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children: Martha Sue Bane of Nashville, Brenda Joe Hickman, Pat Bill McCurdy of Columbia, Janice Derek Barton of Mt. Pleasant, Ricky Carolyn Lemay of Columbia, Terry Terri Lynn Lemay of Culleoka, Tim Crystal Lemay and Kim Pruitt of Columbia; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eula Baker, Viola Baker, Ella Kelly; two brothers: Lester Tidwell and Morrow Tidwell.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Hickman, Jeremy Lemay, Michael Hickman, Richie Seagraves, Jason Pruitt and Andrew Lemay. Honorary pallbearers will be all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Peoples Table at the First United Methodist Church of Columbia, 222 West 7th St. Columbia, TN 38401.
