Mrs. Martha Lee Hie, age 87, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Signature Healthcare in Columbia following an extended illness.
Martha was born on August 3, 1927 to the late Ernest Lee and Henrietta Bowling Lee in Columbia, Tennessee. She was the widow of Tony Hie, Sr. She had worked as a baker, retiring from Stan’s Restaurant in Columbia.
She was a gracious Christian lady and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was dearly loved by them.
Martha is survived by her children: Bobby Lampley, Maria Caldwell of Ohio and Linda (Harold) Cousino of Mt. Pleasant; step-children: Tony (Juanita) Hie, Jr., John (Tricia) Hie, Rosa (Joe) Perko, Anna (Billy) Caldwell and Maggie (Arthur) Hanes; 16 grandchildren; and brother: Henry Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest Lee and Henrietta Bowling Lee; and husband: Tony Hie, Sr.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hie will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Donna Stewart officiating. Burial wil follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. immediately prior to the service.
Jeremy Head, Christopher Cousino, Hubert Hie, Howard Hie, Brian Bradley and Pierce Bradley will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donation be made to the American Diabetes Association American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
