Mrs. Martha Ann Henderson, age 91, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 12. 2022 at her home.
Martha Ann was born March 9, 1931 in Dickson, TN to the late Boyce & Gladys Churchill. She was happily married to her loving husband, Don Henderson, for 63 years until his passing in 2015.
Martha Ann had many interests including teaching dancing in her younger years and piano until in her 80’s. She was a strong and spirited wife, mother and entrepreneur, having owned a gift, costume and balloon shop. Her husband was an elder in the Church of Christ for decades and she was a wonderful elder’s wife, happily accepting her role to help serve others. She made over 20 moves to different locations due to her husband’s time in the military and with DuPont Chemical, and loved every place that they lived. The strongest thing to be said about Martha Ann is her love for all of her family and desire
to see them again one day.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by her three children: Debbie (Wayne) Tallman of Hendersonville, TN, Dr. Donald (Lynn) T. Henderson of Nolensville, TN, and Sandi (Scott) Wells of Brentwood, TN; grandchildren: Brandy L. Tallman (Eric), Jason Tallman, Hope Wells, Austin (Jennifer) Henderson and Heather (Matt) Jones: great grandchildren: Kolton May, Kolby Leigh May, Mason Henderson, Hayes Henderson, Landon Jones, Annalyn Jones, Bryant and Caden Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be special friends , the late Ken & Bettie Preston, the late Judge Fields and Marilyn Fields, friends from Highland View Church of Christ in Oak Ridge, TN, and friends from Highland Church of Christ in Columbia, TN.
A funeral for Martha will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with David Morris officiating. The family will receive friends 11:00 to the start of the service at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.
