Martha Hays

Martha Hays, age 33, passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center Sunday June 9, 2013 surrounded by family.

Martha was born December 27, 1979 in Pontiac Michigan, to Priscilla Jean Gibson Oliver. Martha’s most important job was her children. Second was her job at Shell on North Main and all of the friends she made there. Ever since she was diagnosed with a tumor at the age of eight years old, Martha started a courageous battle that she continued until her passing. In her final days, Martha was able to share with her kids to be the best you can be and that “Mommy will be watching you from Heaven.”

Celebration of life for Ms. Hays will be held Saturday June 15, 2013 at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant beginning at 2:00p.m. with Bro. Tim Paul officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday afternoon from 12:00-2:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Friends and Customers from North Main Shell.

Martha is survived by her two sons: Gregory Hays and Isaiah Cathey; and daughter: Samara Cathey. Her children were her life. She is also survived by her boyfriend: Thomas White; mother: Priscilla Oliver; brother: Danny Oliver; and sister: Abbi Oliver; aunts and uncles: Deborah (Bill) Grissom; Mark (Sue) Gibson; and Sharon Gibson; as well as several cousins.

Contributions for the children may be made to the Martha Hays Benefit Account at First Tennessee Bank or Williams Funeral Home.

Martha leaves us with her favorite verse of the Bible. Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
