Mrs. Martha E. Busby, age 89, a long time resident of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, in Elba, AL following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Busby will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Telford Tharp and grandsons, Dennis Busby II and Tim Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Martha was born November 12, 1922 in the Shady Grove Community of Hickman County, the daughter of the late Buck Baker and Lottie Davis Baker. She was the wife of the late J.B. Busby who preceded her in death in 2003. Martha was retired from Edric Manufacturing and was of the Pentecostal Faith.
Survivors include her children, Dennis Psyche Busby of Kinston, Al, Elizabeth "Libby" Busby of Lewisburg, Yvonne Wayne Legg of Columbia and Dale Mills of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Debbie Davis, Carlene Shoulders, Kathy Epps, Ralph Leslie Spann, Gena Cahill, Dennis Busby II, Travis Rager, Jamie Rager, Chelsea Boyce, Tim Legg, Katie Kelley, Amanda Luna, Josh Mills and Jennie Mills along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Bonnie Morton.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Busby II, Tim Legg, Ralph Leslie Spann, Josh Mills, Travis Rager, Jamie Rager, Jackson Luna and Yale Cahill.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Pentecostal Church of Christ, P. O. Box 1633, Columbia, TN 38402-1633.
