Mrs. Marjorie L. Jenkins Carter, age 75, resident of Sugar Ridge Road in Spring Hill, passed away on Friday, March 5, at St. Thomas Hospital.
A memorial service for Mrs. Carter will be conducted Saturday at 4:00 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Franklin located at 730 New Highway 96. Bro. Ed Steigal will officiate the service.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 3:00 P.M. until time of service and following the service at the church,.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 23, 1934 in Davidson County, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Christine Jenkins. She was the wife of John Carter of Spring Hill. Marjorie was a long time employee of Wal-Mart and first retired from Apcom in Franklin and later retired as a manager with Kroger. Marjorie loved collecting coins and was a very loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother sister and friend. She was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children: Aaron Vaneesa Carter of Castalian Springs, Kenneth Carter of Columbia and Laura Carter of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Reina Pardo and Ricky Pardo, both of Columbia, Matthew Carter of Waynesboro, Michelle Turner of KY and Jonathan Carter of Denver, CO; 2 great-grandchildren; a niece; her best friend: Ronda Holden of Shelbyville; a brother: Carl Jenkins of Killen, AL ; her many close friends at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was preceded in death by one sister: Marie Shaddox and one brother: Rondle Jenkins.
