Marissa Nicole Billings-Morton, age 17, was known for her bright smiling face. She was very friendly and made friends with many. Her family says that “to know her was to love her” and that she touched the lives of many, many people. She loved to laugh and would laugh at everything. She was in a word – special.
Marissa was born on August 5, 1996 to Timothy Michael Morton and Kendra Billings in Columbia, Tennessee. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbia. Marissa passed from this life into heaven on August 25, 2013.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her siblings: Deven Michael Morton, Amber Morton, Ashley Morton and Michael Alexander Morton; grandparents: Judy Wyatt, Linda Billings, Jack (Connie) Billings and Charles Morton; aunt: Tina Morton; uncles: Eddie (Angie) Morton, Steve Morton, John Morton, Nathan Billings and Scott Billings; as well as numerous cousins, great aunts, great uncles and friends. Additionally she leaves behind her very special friend, “Bam Bam” and several special nurses.
Funeral services for Marissa will be held on Wednesday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. at First Family Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Blevins and Pastor David Simmerman officiating. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 until 8:00 on Tuesday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The family wishes to extend thanks to Marissa’s doctors and nurses at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and Maury Regional Medical Center.
