Mrs. Marie Potts Matlock Goodson, 75, a resident of Freedom Lane in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services for Mrs. Goodson will be conducted Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Brother Elmer Lusk and Brother Joseph Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Potts Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Calvin and Josie Byrd Potts and wife of the late Bob Goodson and Hubert Brown Matlock. She worked for Maury Manufacturing and Edric/Publix Manufacturing in Columbia. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Randy Carol Matlock of Nolensville; grandchildren, David Matlock of Cookeville and Daniel Matlock of Knoxville; sisters, Ruth Potts Stanfill Smith of Culleoka, Kathleen Raymond Potts Mitchell of Santa Fe, Audrey Potts Slaughter of Primm Springs, Ester Wayne Potts Hill Kinney, Earline Bailey Potts Morrow and Carolyn Calvin Potts Atkins, all of Santa Fe; brothers, R.B. Mary Potts and Charlie Potts, both of Santa Fe; beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Potts, Frank Potts and Calvin Potts, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Stanfill, Tommy Mitchell, Darvin Mitchell, Kenneth Slaughter, Donald Potts, Steve Potts, Shane Potts, Jeff Warren, Jeff Potts, Bobby Potts, Zachary Potts and Guy Potts.
