Mrs. Marie Kennedy Crews Vandygriff, 76, died Saturday, August 24, 2002 at her residence on Greenlick Drive in Columbia.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vandygriff will be conducted Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Bessie Phillips Kennedy. She was first married to James Crews who died in 1973 and was the widow of Roy Vandygriff who died in 1993. She was a retired sewing machine operator for Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing and member of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Katie Chuck Thornton of Columbia, TN; a step daughter, Peggy Jeff Odom of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a step son, Berry Mary Vandygriff of Garden City, MI; three step granddaughters and one step great granddaughter; a special niece, Glenda Milton Hay; a special great niece, Cassie Hay; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Cocke; three brothers, L.B. "Moogan" Kennedy, Jack Kennedy, and Jeff "Mutt" Kennedy.
Pallbearers will be Austin Huddleston, Milton Hay, Donnie Huddleston, Ronnie Sheeter, Bob Markham, Bobby Powell, Wayne Slaughter, Keith Milton, and Neil Griggs. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, doctors and staff of Columbia Oncology, doctors and staff of the Maury Regional Hospital Cancer Center, Dr. Robert Bain, men of Sandy Hook Church of Christ, Carl May, and Felix Blevins.
