Margarette I. Mcgee

Margarette I. McGee was born March 24, 1927 in Russellville, Alabama, the daughter of the late Rev. Maurice H. Willingham and Irene Patterson Willingham. Margarette had worked for a number of years for the Dupont Corporation, was the former owner of the Whispering Hills Antique Shop in Santa Fe, which led to her love of antiques and doll collecting. One of the greatest times of enjoyment for Margarette was the time she spent with her grandbabies. She was a long time member of the Santa Fe Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Margarette was preceded in death by her two husbands, James B. Hanback and James A. McGee, Sr.

Survivors include her children, James R. "Jimmy" Shirley Hanback of Columbia, Jimmy Sue W. McGee of Decatur, AL, Jeff Phyllis McGee of Santa Fe, James A. "Bug" McGee of Florence, AL and Paulette Tony Isabell of Columbia; grandchildren, James McGee of Madison, AL, Danielle Solley of Decatur, AL, James R. Hanback, Jr., of Columbia, Jeremy Hanback of Columbia, Jeremy McGee of Santa Fe, Martina McGee of Santa Fe, Josh McGee of Columbia, Chris Isabell of Columbia and Tracey Robertson of Tampa, FL, 11 great-grandchildren, a close family friend, Tina McGee of Santa Fe and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Margarette was preceded in death by her sister, Marcille Willingham Love.

Mrs. McGee passed away on Monday, March 19, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Don Emmitte officiating. Burial will follow in the Santa Fe Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer s will be Mary Ruth Ragsdale, Carolyn Skelley, Katie Duncan, Rose Priest, Nancy Fox and members of the Santa Fe Baptist Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Santa Fe Cemetery.
