Margarete Keltner

Margarete Keltner, age 87, passed away on April 15, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

She was born on October 5, 1937, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, to the late Maynon and Lillian Curtis. Margarete spent many years serving others through her work—first as a security guard at General Motors, then later at Walmart, where she worked for 16 years before retiring.

A devoted member of Summertown Baptist Church, Margarete loved her church family and rarely missed a Sunday service. She had a special fondness for classic television shows and enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, a hobby that brought her joy and sparked many conversations over the years.

Family meant everything to Margarete. She is survived by her children, Kim (Jimmy) Elliott and Don (Nancy) Keltner; her grandchildren, Mandy (Curtis) Jepson, Nick (Bridgette) Keltner, and Nathan (Emily) Elliott; and her great-grandchildren, Kenna and Cooper Jepson, and Aidan and Brody Keltner. She is also survived by her siblings, Donna Stills, Ray Curtis, and Jimmy Curtis.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Odell Keltner; her son, Bruce Keltner; and her siblings, Benny Curtis, Sandra Ragsdale, Dora Bolton, and Douglas Curtis.

Pallbearers will be Richard Davenport, Michael Ray, Robert Shepherd, Curtis Jepson, Nathan Elliott, Nick Keltner, and Buddy Yarborough. Honorary pallbearers are Kay and Larry Smith.

Margarete will be remembered for her quiet strength, warm smile, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation for Margarete will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. A service for Margarete will be held on Friday, April 25, 202,5 at 10:00 at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Margarete will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
