Margaret Wood

March 30, 1929 — June 5, 2007

Mrs. Margaret Hodge Wood, age, 78, a resident of First Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wood will be conducted Thursday June 7, at 2:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Dickey Lindsey and Matthew Wood officiating. Burial will be in the Blowing Springs Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends Wednesday from1:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Nick and Cora Workman Hodge and the widow of Douglas Wood, Sr. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and loved flowers. She was a tool and die operator for Advance Stamping in Redford, Michigan. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

She survived by a daughter, Sheila Moore of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Marion Leslie Asbury, Jr. of Washington State, George Patricia Asbury, Kenneth Shelley Asbury and Jolene Moore all of Mt. Pleasant, Michael Melissa Wood of Louisville, KY, Christopher Shelia Wood and Michelle Kenneth Owens both of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandchildren, Marion III , Marcy, Justin, Bethany and Amber Asbury, Stacie, Kevin and Randy Asbury, Wendy Vandygriff, Steven Miller, Gabriel, Noralie, Caroline and Dylan Wood, Kayla, Chris Jr. and Corey Wood, Halley and Kyle Owen; two sisters, Carlene William Fitzgerald of Culleoka and Lucy Davis of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Clinton Hodge and Glenn Katherine Hodge both Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by a son Douglas Wood, Jr., three brothers, Gus Hodge, Nick Junior Hodge and George Hodge, twin sisters, Era and Vera Hodge and Julie Nelson.

Pallbearers will be Chris Wood, George Asbury, Kenny Asbury, Michael Wood, Nicholas Hodge, Mickey Hodge, Nicky Hodge and Mark Hodge.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vicky Wood, Glenn Hodge, Clinton Hodge, Anna May Pierce , Marion Asbury, Jr. and Mark Frazier.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 1818 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
