Margaret Jane Lentz Stanfill, 94, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, after a brief illness.
Born in Giles County on March 3, 1929, to John Thomas and Sarah Cannady Lentz.
Attended Jones school in Lynnville and graduated from Culleoka High School. She retired as a licensed agent for America General Insurance in 1986. Previously she had worked at various clothing factories, including Dixie #1 and #2, Storktowne, Weather Tamer, and Maury Manufacturing.
She was a member of Grace Church of Nazarene and loved attending church there. She always arrived early and sat in the same spot. Some members joked with her about staying in that exact spot all week.
She loved her family and enjoyed the noise/chatter when they were all together.
Survivors dear to her heart include son: Ricky (Deborah) Stanfill of Columbia; daughters: Patsy (Harold) Kennedy of Culleoka, Donna (Jackie) Gibbs of Columbia; grandchildren: Vicki (Mitchell) Kammeier of FL, Kimberly (Donnie) Fitzgerald of Culleoka, Austin (Shelby) Stanfill of Columbia, Jason (Krystal) Burns of Columbia; great-grandchildren: Brandon Fitzgerald, of FL, Kyrie Fitzgerald of FL, Dacon (Kadi) Fitzgerald of Murfreesboro, Matt (Megan) Fitzgerald of Columbia, Haylea Burns of Columbia; 11 great-great-grandchildren; special niece Brenda (Billy) Massey.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Ann Brooks.
Special thanks to her caregiver, Cindy Himes, whom she loved dearly, Meals on Wheels volunteers, who brought so much joy to her, Janice Allen and Dr. Linda Monroe.
Pallbearers: Austin Stanfill, Jason Burns, Mitchell Kammeier, Donnie Fitzgerald, Dacon Fitzgerald, and Matt Fitzgerald.
Honorary Pallbearers: Sandra Haywood, Meals on Wheels drivers and volunteers, Columbia Fire Department.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennnessee. The service for Ms. Margaret will be Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Jason Caddy officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens.
