Margaret Roberts, age 87, a resident of Columbia passed away in her home Sunday June 9, 2013 surrounded by family.
Margaret was born May 24, 1926 in Maury County to the late Albert and Kathrine Chumley and was the widow of Elmer Roberts. Margaret worked at Dixie manufacturing as a seamstress for many years. She volunteered at Life Care Center, Clothes Closet, and the Peoples Table.
Services for Ms. Roberts will be held Friday June 14, 2013 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia beginning at 10 a.m. Steve Swango will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 4-8 at the funeral home.
Friends and Family will serve as the pallbearers for Margaret. Honorary Pallbearers will be the sunday school class and members of the Loyal Chapel Baptist Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by one son: Jerry Pete Fautt; one Step-son: Rickey Roberts; and two Step-Daughters: Alma Jean Fautt and Sue Ellen Perry.
Margaret is survived by Two grand-daughters: Christy Fautt and Lisa Harger; as well as two grand-sons: Jeffrey Fautt, Michael (Christie) Fautt; One Step-daughter: Linda (Dennis) Harrington; and two step-sons: Wayne (Charlotte) Roberts and Paul (Melinda) Roberts; One Brother: Ed (Jean) Chumley; Two Sisters-in-law: Grace Chumley and Jean Chumley; Two Great Grand-Daughters: Jerin Fautt (Colton) Halstead and Neely Fautt; also one Great Grand-Son: Nicholas Harger; one Great-Great Grand-Daughter: Callie Halstead; and one Great-Great Grand-Son: Jaceton Cain Halstead. Margaret was also preceded in death by her brothers Eugene, Albert Jr., Bobby, and Frank Chumley; as well as four sisters: Anne Ledford, Lorene Norman, Evelyn Crigger, and Elsie Chumley.
