Mrs. Margaret Lee Sisco Bain longtime resident of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully on June 4, 2012 at her residence.
Margaret was born to the late Early Andrew and Vestia Cothran Sisco in Lewis County, Tennessee on September 9, 1923. She and her parents moved to Detroit, MI during WWII to work in a munitions factory to support the war effort. She later married Elmer Aaron "Moody" Bain on Valentine's Day in 1947. Benning, GA. They were married for 34 years before "Moody" preceded her in death on May 27, 1981.
Mrs. Bain was known as a feisty lady and her family recalls that her husband being a stand-out football player in college, would win the games on the field, while she won the fights in the stands.
Margaret attended Middle Tennessee State College. After college she became the secretary to the Dean of Veteran's Affairs at the college. She then served as the office manager for her family's mining companies, Sisco Brothers and Maury Mining. Later she was the secretary to the President of Columbia Military Academy.
