Mrs. Margaret Isabell Stewart, age 67, resident of Clauson Drive in the Zion Acres Community, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 in the chapel of the Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Rev. William Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
Born April 28, 1943 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the Late Bonnie Blue and Annie Dean McNeese Isabell. She was wife of the late Samuel Shield Stewart, Sr. She drove the bus for the Impact Center and was also a volunteer for the South Central Human Resource Agency. She loved playing cards at her kitchen table, fishing, and camping. The love of her life was taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Ebenezer Church.
She is survived by her children, Malcomb Lisa Stewart and Samuel Lorna Stewart, Jr. both of Columbia, Dottie Stephen Dickinson of Shelbyville and Sandra Bryan Wood of Huachuca City, AZ; a step-daughter, Catherine Newcomb of Mt. Pleasant; brothers and sisters, Bill Isabell, Linda Jerry Young and Rose Buck Bondurant all of Mt. Pleasant and Bonnie Kaye Isabell of Columbia; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Tommy L. Wood, brothers and sisters, Claude Isabell, Seth Isabell, Marshall Isabell, Helen Bolton and Katherine Medlin.
Active pallbearers will be Daniel Dewight Stewart, Dustin Dewain Stewart, Thomas Stewart, Tommy Clark, Gabriel Mercado and Eric Thurman. Honorary pallbearers will be all the members of the Ebenezer Church of Mt. Pleasant.
