Malcolm Eugene Brady was born April 20, 1927, in Maury County, the son of the late Walker and Roxie Taylor Brady. He was the husband of 68 years of Marjorie Hay Brady.
Malcolm owned two service stations in Columbia, the Speedy 66 and Brady’s Exxon at Northway. Malcolm loved NASCAR and motorcycles. He enjoyed racing his own car for many years, #88. He was an avid fisherman and his sons say he not only enjoyed fishing, but also eating fish. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors in addition to Marjorie include their three sons, Jim (Sheree) Brady, Jerry (Dianne) Brady and Marvin Brady, all of Columbia; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jewel “Dude” Huckaby, Helen Wall, Alvin Brady, Marie McClain, Clara Stewart, Dewey Brady and Faye Davis.
Malcolm passed away on Sunday morning, December 29, at his residence surrounded by his devoted family.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow in the Santa Fe Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Charles Stofel, David Brady, Joel Brady, John Brady, Keith Brady and Cameron Cothron.
