Major James Forrest Parsons Ret., 79, a resident of Meadow Road in Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, July 18, 2005 at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Parsons will be conducted Thursday, July 21, 2005, at 2:0o p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Masonic rites will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Entombment will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with full military honors being provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Abe and Bessie West Parsons and was the widower of Delores Buck Parsons. Mr. Parsons was a retired Major in the United States Army, having served during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and member of the Ed T. Workman Masonic Lodge #610 in Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by a son, James Brenda Parsons, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; step-daughter, Lucille Bob Winder of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Alicia Andy Brown, James F. Parsons III and Janet Matthew Wood all from Mt. Pleasant, TN. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be members of the United States Army Honor Guard.
