Mai Eta Smith

October 17, 1914 — February 18, 2008

Mrs. Mai Etta Potts Smith, age 93, a long time resident of East 15th Street, passed way on Monday, February 18, in Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Russell Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

A native of Maury County, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Odie Potts and Maggie Rose Brady Potts. She was the wife of the late Fred Smith. She was a loving house wife and long time care giver to many people. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include nieces and nephews: Frank Deena Potts, Deanie George Mayo, Ann Mark Westmoreland, Michael T. Potts, Roy Dean Diane Potts and Kathy Johnny Davis, all of Columbia; great-nieces and nephews: Michael J. Potts, Casey G. Potts, Tommy Mayo, Ben Mayo, Steven Westmoreland, Mark Westmoreland, Jr., Jason Potts, Bridgette Davis and Deana Davis.

Pallbearers will be Michael J. Potts, Casey G. Potts, Johnny Davis, Steven Westmoreland, Dave Morris, George Mayo and Roland Shapiro. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Calvary Baptist Church, nurses and staff of Columbia Care and Rehab, Dr. Linda Monroe, Faye Hartsfield, Wilma Stanfill and Mary Morris.
