Maggie C. Chapman Staggs

August 5, 1921 — February 20, 2006

Mrs. Maggie C. Chapman Staggs, 84, a resident of New Lawrenceburg Hwy. in Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, February 20, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Staggs will be conducted 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Tommy Hagewood officiating. Burial will be in the Kidd Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Born in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Lester and Mattie Caroline Hendrix Staggs and the wife of late James Edward Chapman and the late Vaughn Staggs. She was a retired seamstress from Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing and a member of Locust Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by sons, Terry Lillie Chapman, Tommy Keith Chapman, Samuel Ray Chapman, all of Mt. Pleasant and James Lewis Chapman of Pulaski; grandchildren, Terry Wayne Dee Dee Chapman of Summertown, Sabrina Daniel Sexton of Mt. Pleasant, Amber B.J. Bolton and Jason Dial, both of Columbia, Denise John Lewis of Nashville, Sandy Chapman, Misty Chapman and Julie Chapman, all of Florida; great grandchildren, Breeann Chapman, Molly Chapman and Chloe Chapman, all of Summertown, Lauren Lewis and Lillian Lewis, both of Nashville; sisters, Irene Blade and Lora Johnson, both of Lewisburg and Alice Clayton Bryan of Morrison. She was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Honorary pall bearers will be Dr Gaylon Harris, Dr. McArthur, the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cancer Center and Columbia Oncology, members of the Locust Street Church of Christ.
