Mack Craft Jr, age 85, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Mack was born on May 10, 1929 in Iron City, Tennessee to the late Mack Craft Sr. and Celia Kimbell. Mack joined the United States Navy when he was just 16 years old. He proudly served his country during WWII on the USS Toledo. In 1951, Mack married Marguerite Killen and together they raised three sons. They were married for 46 years before her death. Mack served the city of Columbia as Captain of the Columbia Fire Department and was Columbia’s first fire inspector. He coached Columbia Little League and Babe Ruth. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #31 and was a Shriner. Mack loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Tennessee Volunteers. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. with Chaplin Jimmy Elliott officiating. Entombment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 will provide military honors.

Mack is survived by his sons Steven (Amanda) Craft of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Rick (Jane) Craft and Mark (Kay) Craft both of Columbia, Tennessee; grandsons Will (Tara) Craft, Shane (Ashley) Craft, and Hunter Craft; granddaughters Tina (Brent) Driver, Stephanie (Forrest) Reid, Brittney (Stan) Davis, and Kellee Craft; brother Don (Faye) Craft; sister-in-laws Elizabeth Craft and Irene Craft; brother-in-law Bob Deckert; and several great-grandchildren.

Mack was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite Craft; his parents Mack Craft Sr. and Celia Craft; brothers Leo Craft, Paul Craft, William Craft, and Brandt Craft; sisters Velma Deitz, Ruby Daniels, Cordellia Davis, and Lillian Deckert.

Pallbearers will be Will Craft, Shane Craft, Hunter Craft, Stan Davis, Brent Driver, and Johan van Niekerk.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Columbia Fire Department, Masonic Lodge #31, and Shriners of Alemenah Temple.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and Maury County Animal Shelter.
