Lyonia Walters, 66, left this life surrounded by his family and friends on August 23, 2007 in his home in Mt. Pleasant, TN.
Funeral services for Mr. Walters will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jeff Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 4:00 ? 9:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Born in Loretto, TN, August 24, 1940; he was the son of the late Joe Ross and Maudie Inez Cotton Walters. He was the husband of Elisabeth A. ?Dora? Dunnfelder. Mr. Walters was retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service. He was also an employee of Occidental Chemical Company. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Walters is survived by four sons: Joe Walters of Summertown, TN, Thomas Petra Weissenberger of Germany, Mike Walters of Summertown, TN, and Ronny Sheeter of Mount Pleasant; one daughter: Jacqueline Calvert of Ethridge; twin sister: Wyvonia Garland of Lawrenceburg, TN; sister: Glenda Garland of Columbia, TN; three brothers: BillyWalters of Ethridge, TN, Danny Walters of Hampshire, TN, and Kenneth Walters of Mt. Pleasant, TN; and eight grandchildren: Jeremy Walters, Kensley Walters, Kristin Weissenberger, Amber Calvert, Autumn Calvert, Coty Walters, Anna Clare Sheeter, and Tim Weissenberger. Mr. Walters was preceded in death by one sister: Linda Walters.
Members of the United States National Guard will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Pam Honey and Pam Holland of Caris Healthcare.
