Lyndol E. Orr

January 10, 1926 — February 19, 2003

Mr. Lyndol E. Orr, 77, a resident of 7th Ave. in Columbia, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Orr will be conducted Friday, February 21, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with full military honors being provided by the Tennessee State Guard. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Marshall County native was the son of the late Kate Hooten Orr Catinna and step father, Pete Catinna. He was the husband of Willodyne Jacobs Orr of Columbia. He was a retired foreman of kiln operations for Monsanto Chemical Company and member of the Highland Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in which he received the medals of American Area, Asiatic-Pacific Area, Philippine Liberation, 2 stars of Good Conduct and the World War II Victory.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sandra Sue Orr Bill Corn of Etowah, TN; a son, Donald Edwin Corinne Orr of Columbia; four grandchildren, Lonnie Orr and Jimmy Orr both of Columbia, Angel Alston of Atlanta, GA, and Jennifer Myers of North Carolina; a step granddaughter, April Corn Womack of Knoxville; four great grandchildren, Madison Alston and Victor Alston both of Atlanta, GA, Connor Myers and Aidan Phillipp Myers both of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Demastus; three brothers, William Orr, Wyndol Orr, and John Orr.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray King, Lonnie Orr, Jimmy Orr, Robert Orr, Steven Orr, and Terry Hodge. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Highland Church of Christ.
