Lounora Bell Grimmett

Mrs. Lounora Bell Grimmett, age 79, a resident of Foster Chapel Road in Columbia, passed away Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Born August 10th, 1931 in Maury County and raised in the Sawdust Community, she was the daughter of the late Will Lewis and Nora Chamberlain Bell and the wife of Jimmy Grimmett for 52 years, who she married on October 17th, 1958. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Mrs. Grimmett loved making scrap books and enjoyed geneaology. She made the best pies around and was known as the Chocolate Pie Queen. She was a long time member of the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters: LuAnn Mark Yancey of Columbia and Bobbie Tim Black of Sawdust; grandchildren: Kelly Zac Neely of Murfreesboro and Ben Warf of Columbia; great grandchildren: Makayla Belle Black of Sawdust and Evie Rae Neely of Murfreesboro; sisters: Virginia Tallent, Billie Kincaid, Barbara Frank Thomas, all of Columbia and Jane Jones of Mt. Pleasant; brother: Joe Linda Bell of Columbia; brother-in-law: Bill Harlan of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Molly Bell Grimmett, a sister: Mary Lee Harlan and brothers: L.C. and James Thomas Bell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Grimmett will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 11th, 2010 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Donna Higginbotham officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Kincaid, Byron Jones, Garrick Jones, Stan Bell, Kent Bell, Jerry Grimmett, Steve Thomas and Todd Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be all the members of the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church and her nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
