Lounettie Jennings Thompson

Mrs. Lounettie Jennings Thompson, 94, a resident of Mallard Drive in Mobile, Alabama, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Providence Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be conducted Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Vasser officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 A.M. until service time.

The Shelbyville native was the daughter of the late Thomas Garrett and Minnie Mai Osburn Jennings and was the wife of Estill E. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a graduate of The Tate School in Shelbyville and Tennessee College for Women in Murfreesboro. She was currently a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Columbia and was previously an active member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Shelbyville, First Baptist Church in Pulaski, and Belmont Heights Baptist Church in Nashville.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Thompson is survived by three granddaughters, Debra Don Mayes of Mobile, Ala., Linda Andrew Jackson of Tullahoma, Tn., and Pam Ted Verville of Rossville, Ga.; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Shanklin of Columbia, Tn., and three sisters, Lucille Elmore, Marion Ashley and Doris Gowan.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Spencer Jackson, Don Mayes, Shane Mayes, Ryan Mayes, Ted Verville and Luke Verville.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Good News Sunday School class of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
