Mrs. Louise McClanahan Stewart Colvert, 89, widow of William Thomas Colvert, Sr. and a resident of Hay Long Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at NHC/ Hillview Health Care.
A graveside memorial service for Mrs. Colvert will be conducted Thursday, April 28, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Arlington Cemetery with Reverend David Harkness officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at her residence, 314 Hay Long Avenue. Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant is in charge of the arrangements.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Van Leer and Mable Staley Stewart. She was a graduate of David Lipscomb College in Nashville. She was a homemaker, being a great loving and giving mother to her four children. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant, a supporter of Little League Baseball, and a truly devoted Democrat.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol James Smith of Cordova, TN; three sons, William Thomas Deborah Colvert, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Dr. Staley Colvert of Scottsboro, AL, and Robert K. Sonya Colvert of Nashville, TN; thirteen grandchildren, Stewart Smith of Covington, TN, J.B. Smith, III and Amy Malady of Cordova, TN, William Thomas Colvert, III of Lynchburg, TN, Anna Woodard and Lee Colvert of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Jessica White of Fairfax, VA, Joe Colvert and Darcy Colvert of Nashville, TN, Dawson Colvert Weymoth, England, Alle Colvert of Centre, AL, Martha Rogers of Wichita Falls, TX, and Lezley Cooper of Little Rock, AR.
