Mrs. Louise Ekstween Staggs, 92, widow of Britton Staggs and a resident of First Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, May 10, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Staggs will be conducted Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend J.C. Christian officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Ernest and Linnie Cook Ekstween. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Cotton Massey of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Faye C.D. Sizemore of Goodlettsville, TN; four grandchildren, Rickey Terry Massey and Rodney Massey both of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Cathy Steve Newell of Goodlettsville, TN, and Ronnie Staggs of Columbia, TN; three great grandchildren, Drew Massey and Adam Massey both of Mt. Pleasant, TN, and Janean Newcurt of Chapel Hill, TN; a great-great grandchild, McKinnzie Newcurt of Chapel Hill, TN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Alfred Staggs.
Pallbearers will be Rickey Massey, Rodney Massey, Adam Massey, Drew Massey, Ronnie Staggs, Steve Newell, Charles Staggs, and Wayne Whitwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hull, and Wendell O?Neal. The family extends their deep appreciation to her caregivers, Ruby Vandiver and Deborah Potts.
