Louise Broadway

November 23, 1921 — January 24, 2012

Louise Scroggins Broadway was born November 23, 1921 in Hickman County, the daughter of the late Corbett Scroggins and Willie Bryant Scroggins. Louise was the wife of the late R.H. Broadway who preceded her in death on June 16, 1991. She had been a housemother for King's Daughters' and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Louise was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Broadway is survived by her children, Lynette Danny Owens of Santa Fe and Gary Jane Broadway of Columbia; one grandchild, Kena Sisk of Santa Fe; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Sisk, Karley Sisk and Kassie Sisk, all of Santa Fe; one sister, Shirley Don Gronewold of Washington, IL; a special niece, Sheila Cook of Columbia along with other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Lineberry, Hazel Adams, Dot Hickman and Betty Stewart.

Mrs. Broadway passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Bob Adair and Rev. Mark Proctor officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Richard Sudderth, Kevin Gronewold, Marvin Broadway, Keith Lineberry, Danny Harrington and Jimmy Guthrie. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and members of Highland Park Baptist Church.
