Louis A. Wood

Mr. Louis A. Wood, 88, a resident of Locust Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Graveside services for Mr. Wood will be conducted Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Dickey Lindsey officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
The Maury County native, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Kate Brown Logue Wood and husband of the late Louise Isabell Wood. He was a retired welder with Columbia Rock Products and a long time member of the Dry Creek Methodist Church.
He is survived by a son, Robert W. Wood of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Lisa Wood of Mangham, LA, Lori Webb Williams of Mt. Pleasant and Bobby Wood of Knoxville, TN; Great-grandchildren, Daniel Williams, Lance Williams and Suzanne Williams all of Mt. Pleasant; Sisters and Brother, Audry Nichols, Harold Kitty Wood and Martha Milan all of Mt. Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Peggy Wood of Mangham, LA.
He was preceded in death by a son, William E. Wood; a brother, Raymond Wood; two sisters, Charlene Shepherd and Lora Mae Yocum.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hayes, Danny Wood, Gaylon Wood, Bobby Wood, Gary Shepherd, Daniel Williams, Lance Williams, Dalton Cole, Nicky Hunter and Bill Yocum.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Davis, Charles Bassham, Spud Crotzer, Duby Beckum, Dicky Lindsey, Steve Hayes, Michael Shepherd, friends of the Mt. Pleasant Pool Hall, friends of Lumpy?s, Dr. Cummins Couch, Johnny and Mary Gibson, Ronnie Irwin and Olan Bassham
