Loretha Scott Cheatham

Mrs. Loretha Scott Cheatham, age 75, a resident of Hampshire Pike in Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cheatham will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with David Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was born March 30, 1934, the daughter of the late Walter Oliver Scott and Mary Lou Truelove Scott Moore. She was the wife of the late Howard K. Cheatham. Loretha had worked as a Medical Assistant for several area doctors including Dr. Edward Ewton, Dr. John Brown, Dr. Andrew Sisk and Dr. Ralph Kustoff. She was a member of the Cathey's Creek Church of Christ.

Survivors include her son: Scott LaQuita Cheatham of Columbia; one brother: J.W. Audrey Scott of Columbia; one sister: Margaret Smithson of Centerville; grandchildren: Amy and Brad Cheatham, both of Columbia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Loretha was preceded in death by sisters: Julia Regeon and Carrie Mayberry and a brother: Fred Scott.

Pallbearers will be Mike Smithson, Don Smithson, Tony Scott, Walter Scott, Dan Hunter and Randy Cheatham. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cathey's Creek Church of Christ.

The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Cathey's Creek Church of Christ Building Fund, 4418 Stephenson School House Road, Hampshire, TN 38461.
