Lorane Fralix Cates

Mrs. Lorane Fralix Cates, age 74, a resident of Circle Drive in Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, in Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cates will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Greg Golden and Rev. Jeff Cates officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 ? 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Arlie and Jennie Fralix Fralix. She was the loving wife of Jeff Cates of Columbia, whom she married on October 29, 1949. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters: Judy Dickey of Chapel Hill, Patricia Anderson of Rally Hill and Debbie Malone of Columbia; one son: Jeffrey Cates of Columbia; seven grandchildren: Greg Dickey of Chapel Hill, Precilla Anderson of Culleoka, Crystal Malone, Preston Holt, Jonathon Holt, Daniel Holt and Austin Holt, all of Columbia; eight great-grandchildren: Tyler Kelly, Summer Kelly, Christi Kelly and Wade Kelly, all of Culleoka; Triston Malone, Taylor Malone and Hailey Faith Malone, all of Columbia and Christopher Dickey of Chapel Hill.
She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law: Hugh Buster Dickey and Aurther Lee Anderson and one great-grandson: Logan Dennis Kelly.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
