Lonnie Mac Tucker

October 16, 1924 — June 12, 2010

Lonnie Mac Tucker was born in Lawrence County on October 16, 1924 to James A. and Naomi Collier Tucker. He was raised and attended school in Summertown, TN. Lonnie Mac Tucker and Dorothy Green Nichols were married March 26, 1965 in Columbia, Tennessee. Following their marriage they moved to the Huntsville, AL area. In 1967 they built their home in Summertown, TN. Mac worked as an electrician at the Union Carbide Plant in Columbia and retired in 1989. Mac passed away peacefully at the NHC/Hillview Nursing Home on June 12, 2010.

Mac served in the US Navy during WWII. He and Dot were avid campers and were members of the Dimple of the Universe Camper Club. He loved spending time with their many friends at the camp grounds. They were members of the Lazy Eight and Wagon Wheeler Square Dance Clubs for several years. Mac loved to plant a large garden on his place in Summertown. He shared his bountiful crops with all the neighbors. He was the oldest and life long member of the Summertown Baptist Church.

Mac is survived by his wife: Dorothy G. Tucker; stepson: Michael Bonnie L. Nichols, Sr. of Southlake, TX; grandsons: Michael Stephanie Nichols, Jr. of Memphis, Greg Dana Nichols of Nashville and Tracy Jenny Nichols of Pleasant View; granddaughter: Tammy Nichols of Nashville; brother: Ernest Tucker; sisters: Josephine Psota, Norma Burns and Danise Fisher; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandson: Randy Nichols; sisters: Helen Vacha, Lois Holloway, Mary Blue and Katherine Tucker; brother: Jimmy Tucker.

Pallbearers will be Alan Psota, Phillip Burns, Pat Tucker, Michael Tucker, Bill Chaffin, Wesley Nichols and Tracy Nichols.

Services will be held at Williams Funeral Homes in Mt. Pleasant at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 15 with Rev. Howard Kitter officiating. Interment will follow in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
