Lois Posey Rich, born on January 14, 1925, peacefully embarked on her final journey on October 2, 2023, in Columbia, Tennessee, after nearly a century of a joyous life. She was the beloved daughter of the late Lewis Posey and Artie Brewer Posey.
Lois is survived by her loving children: Wanda (Bob) Walls of Woodbury, Tennessee, Jan (Dale) Johnson of International Falls, Minnesota. She leaves behind a legacy of seven grandchildren: Scott (Dana) Walls, Joey (Sandy) Walls, Jonathan Walls, Aaron (Emma) Johnson, Nathan (Kim) Johnson, Mike (Kris) Johnson, and Brian Johnson, as well as several cherished great-grandchildren.
Famous for her delectable cakes, Lois's culinary talents brought joy to her family's lives. Her natural creativity knew no bounds, and she had the ability to craft anything she set her mind to. Lois found solace in her flower garden and the heartfelt melodies of her favorite gospel songs. As devoted Christian, Lois would spend her quiet mornings drinking her coffee and delved into the Lord’s word. She committed her morning to praying for her loved ones by name, only wanting nothing but blessing to reign upon them.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse W. Rich, and her son Jeffrey Wade Rich, as well as her sisters: Lucille Whitehead, Edna Hines; and brother: Walter Posey.
Friends and visitors are invited to pay their respects on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Ms. Lois will find her eternal rest at Polk Memorial Gardens where a private graveside will be held for family.
Lois Posey Rich's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
