Lois Estelle Johnson, 90 of Columbia, passed away Thursday morning, August 29, 2013, at Signature Health Care in Columbia.
Lois was born in Alabama to the late Willie Edgar and Nellie Gibson Scroggins. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Columbia. Lois was such a hardworking woman and retired from Lasko as an assembly line employee. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Her family says that she was the loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that anyone would want to have.
Funeral services for Ms. Johnson will be Saturday, August 31, at 2:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Lawrence Jackson and Bro. Charles Clark officiating. Burial will follow the service in Polk Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, August 30, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Survivors for Lois include: son, James E. (Janie) Johnson; daughter, Linda (Charles) DuPlessis; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence (Louise) Scroggins; and sister, Bertha (Charles) Clark. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by: her children, Larry Eugene, Harold, & Bill Johnson; and her siblings, Oscar Scroggins, Elmer (Jane) Scroggins, Lucille (Paul) Tucker, William Edward (Floy) Scroggins, Evelyn (Billy) Patterson, L.M. (Patsy) Scroggins, James Nolen (Mary) Scroggins, and Dean Scroggins.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Nick Johnson, Eric DuPlessis, Charles DuPlessis, David Stephenson, Bernie Anderson, and Chip Clark.
