Lois E. Jackson, age 87, a resident of shady Drive in Columbia, passed away on Friday, November 30, at her residence surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
She was born on January 9, 1925, in Elkmont, Alabama, the daughter of the late Floyd and Terra Rogers.
Lois is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles W. Jackson and her children, Betty Baker and Mike (Debra) Jackson; grandchildren, Ken Eubank, Lori (Troy) Rubert, Katie Jackson, and Samantha Jackson; great-grandchildren, Caleb Rubert, Mackenzie Rubert and Wynnslee Smartt She is also survived by brothers, Mason (June) Rogers , Dorris Ray Rogers, a sister-in-law, Mildred Philpot and was preceded in death by Estel Rogers and sisters, Maggie Whorton and Edna Philpot.
Mrs. Jackson is retired from the cafeteria at Riverside Elementary School after twenty years of service. She was also a homemaker for 68 years, a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Pallbearers will be Ken Eubank, Troy Rubert, Jerry Philpot, Colton Shreve, Robert Smartt, and Kenny Eubank. Honorary pallbearer is Caleb Rubert.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jackson will be conducted Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Steve Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
