Culleoka

Lois "Virginia" Baxter went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2024. Born to the late Edgar Johnson and Helen Lucille Street Johnson in Columbia, Tennessee, Virginia lived a life filled with love, dedication, and faith. She married the love of her life, Larry Baxter, Sr., and together they raised a loving family.

Virginia was a devoted school teacher at Columbia Christian Academy for 13 years, where she expanded the minds of young ones and spread the love of the Lord. Her kind and caring soul was evident in everything she did, always looking out for friends and neighbors and lending a hand to anyone in need. She showed her love through her baking, with beloved dishes like banana pudding and chocolate gravy that put a smile on anyone's face.

She cherished time with her family, always looking forward to a game of bingo with the kids. Her warm, bright, and compassionate spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her daughter Kelly Ann Baxter and her sisters, Joyce Marie Jones and Annie Mae Spivey.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Baxter, Sr.; children, Shelly (Jerry) Myers, Larry Baxter, Jr., and Tina (John) Chorba; grandchildren: Luke Baxter, Dustin Cole, Savannah Kerr, Jasmyn Lawson, Ronnie Baxter, Kellianna Chorba, Alaya Chorba, and Joseph Chorba; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nephews Brian Spivey and Jeremy Spivey, along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and visitors on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Henry Mobley, Pastor Vince Dominguez, and Rev. Luke Baxter. Virginia will be laid to rest at a private family destination.

Those honored as pallbearers: Brian Spivey, Jeremy Spivey, Luke Baxter, Dustin Cole, Ronnie Baxter, Gene Woodard and Joseph Chorba. Honorary pallbearers are brothers and sisters of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.

Virginia's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will be cherished forever by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
