Mr. Lloyd Thermon McHenry, Sr., 80, passed away on September 6, 2013 at River City Care and Rehab in Decatur, Alabama following a brief illness.
Mr. McHenry was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Larkin McHenry and was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 10, 1933. On May 10, 1954, Lloyd married Martha Jean Pitts who survives him. He was a graduate of Haylong High School and Nashville Business College. Earlier in his career Lloyd worked for NASA and later worked for TVA as an electrician foreman.
He was of the Methodist faith and was a dedicated Scottish Rite, Mason, and a member of the Shriners.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McHenry is survived by his children: Diane McHenry Hall of Houston, TX and Lloyd “Mac” McHenry, Jr. of Decatur, AL; grandson: Craig (Rosie) Carden of St. Petersburg, FL; great-grandson: Sammy Carden of St. Petersburg, FL; and sisters: Gladyies (James) Parrish of Gainesville, FL and Donna Poag of Franklin, TN.
Funeral services for Mr. McHenry will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee with Rev. Gary Wedgewood officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Michael T. Smith, Steve Lanphere, Danny Bohlender, Ben Garth, Bobby Shackelford, Mike Clemons, James Walker, Gary Capone and Bobby Brown will serve as pallbearers.
