Mrs. Lisa Jo Potter McGaw, age 30, wife of Steve McGaw and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
A Memorial Service to honor Lisa will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in the Arbors Pavilion of Polk Memorial Gardens at 10 AM with a burial service following. All who loved her are welcome to attend. Polk Memorial Gardens is in charge of the arrangements and assisting the family.
Lisa was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the daughter of Neil Potter of Vermont and Geri Lisa Black Potter of Columbia. Following graduation from Spring Hill High School in Spring Hill, Tennessee; she and Steve McGaw were married on November 19, 1997. She was a member of the Theta Baptist Church. As an employee of O'Charley's in Spring Hill, Lisa Jo made many friends with her outgoing personality. Previously, she was a manager for Pizza Hut in Columbia. This loving daughter, wife, mother of three, and friend was one of the most caring and giving person you could ever meet. She thought of others before ever considering herself. It didn't matter what was going on in her life, she always kept a radiant, beautiful smile. She would cheer others up even when she was down. She was a great listener, encourager and very supportive to her family and friends. Her passion for life and sweet spirit will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she left to cherish her memory three children: Tyler, Colin and Summer McGaw all of Columbia, TN; a sister, Kristie Potter of VT; grandmother: Deani K. Black of Columbia; her aunt: Tracy Randy Peden; cousins: Lauren Billy Kirkland, Macy DeVore, and Kaitlyn DeVore, all of Columbia; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, William "Chesley" Black; her maternal great-grandmother, Elizabeth Kincaid West; and her maternal uncle, Darrell Black.
