Lisa Renee Church, age 56, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center in TN.
Lisa was born on September 25, 1963 in Honolulu, HI to parents Russell and the late Susan Haywood Church. Lisa grew up in the little town of Sawdust, TN. She graduated from Hampshire high school. She grew to be a kind and loving person, with a quick wit. She loved to make people smile and laugh. Lisa has always had a heart for animals, and it started at a young age, she had a Hen named Penny, that she would dress up and push around in a stroller. She carried that passion to the love of her life Chloe, her Jack Russell, whom she would dress in all sorts of interesting outfits. She could have opened her own zoo. She especially loved riding her horse Tex.
Lisa referred to herself as a strong, independent woman. She overcame a lot of adversity and still loved life. She proudly sponsored many people and help guide them through the 12 steps of AA. Her family and friends will dearly miss her kindness and laughs that she gave to them.
Lisa is survived by her father: Russell Church of Raleigh, NC; siblings: David Curtiss of Granger, IN, Gwendolyn (Chris) Dwyer of Raleigh, NC, and Bradley Russell Church of Raleigh, NC; aunt and uncle: Donna (Paul) Church Young; cousins: Stacy Wright and Hayley (Chris) Burgess; friend: Kenny Stanfield; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, and grandparents.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN.
