Linda R. Hendrix Friend, age 50, a resident of Perkins Lane in Columbia went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born May 26, 1960 in Chicago, ILL daughter of the late Larry Hallett and Lorene Hendrix. She was a graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, TN. She worked at Maury Regional Hospital for 15 years, was a CNA for 25 years, then became a nurse and worked for several Nursing Homes in Maury County. Linda was a devoted Christian and caregiver to all in her care. She selflessly loved helping all in need with no hesitation. A dedicated and loving mother, she loved her sons more than life itself.
Linda is survived by three sons: Matthew J. Kilgore of Hueytown, AL, James Ryan Friend of Columbia and Joshua Ross Briana Renee Friend of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Kaylin Dessa Renee Friend of Shelbyville, TN, Noah Friend of Columbia, Brogan & Rhea'gan Edwards and Talon and Kelon Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; Arthur J. Kilgore, the father of Matthew of Athens, AL; Brian Friend, the father of James & Joshua Friend; a cousin: Jean Hamilton of Mt. Pleasant ; second cousin: Donna Jean Hamilton of Mt. Pleasant.
A Celebration of Life service for Linda will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
