Linda Kay Clawson Chapman, age 74 of Summertown, passed peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family in the early hours of Sunday morning, December 16, 2018.
Linda was born in 1944, to the late John Riley “Blackie” Clawson and Hassie Pearl Clawson. Linda attended beauty school before settling on a career at Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing, which lasted over 30 years. She was an everyday adventurer; always ready to go, it didn’t particularly matter where. She loved to just ride. Linda enjoyed going to yard sales and working puzzles. Feeding people was a way she showed she loved them. Chicken and dumplings was one of her famous dishes. Linda had a servant’s heart and a spirit who cared for all people. She attended Macedonia Church of Christ.
Linda’s life will be celebrated in service, on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Watts Hill Cemetery.
The honor of serving as pallbearers for Ms. Chapman belongs to David Chatman, Chris Turnbo, Tony Sims, Dakota Hill, Lonnie Clawson and Stanley Rogers.
Linda is survived by her son: Joe (Sherry) Chapman of Summertown, TN; grandchildren: Aleaha, Riley and Ryan Chapman; siblings: Wanda Rhodes, Steve Clawson and Rick (Beth) Clawson; Nieces: Maggie (Chris) Turnbo, Jessica Clawson, Cassie Clawson, Becky (Donald) Wiseman, and Judy(Darrell) Bailey. Linda is also survived by her best friend of over 30 years, Dello Garland. Her son, Rusty Chapman and nephew, Johnny Ambrose preceded her death.
