Linda A. Boyd

Linda Ann Boyd (nee Dye) of Mount Pleasant, TN, 74, entered eternity with our Lord on Thursday, February 6, 2020, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born in Summertown, TN on September 5, 1945 to Euel Garfield and Myrtle Novolene Dye and moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1956 making Mount Pleasant her home until our merciful and loving God called her home.

David Lee Boyd and Linda were married on August 12, 1962 in Mount Pleasant, TN and were married for 57 years before her passing. Shortly after their marriage, Linda completed her GED diploma and became a teller for First Farmer’s and Merchant’s bank where she worked for 23 years, becoming the head teller for over 12 years before retiring in 2004.

Linda was a model of Christian behavior and love and served throughout her life in the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant, TN and New Song Baptist Church (Columbia, TN) where she sang in the choir, kept nursery and taught young children throughout her full life. Linda’s practice of her faith was evident in her life and had a strong impact on friends and strangers alike. She was always ready to help, to provide a word of encouragement and hope or to just care and support others through their difficulties.

She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, David Boyd; four children, Pamela Leann (Jim) Hendrickson of Columbus, Ohio, Rhonda Lynn Boyd, Bobby (Shelley) Boyd, and Terry Lee Boyd all of Mount Pleasant. In addition, she will be missed by all who know her and especially her grandchildren, James, Joseph and Emma Hendrickson of Columbus, Ohio, Ashley (Destry) Boyd and Gracie Boyd of Mount Pleasant, Shannon (Daniel) Price of Knoxville; her great grandchildren, Bentley and Isabella Boyd of Mount Pleasant; nieces and nephews, Lisa Boyd, Breck (Becky) Boyd, Kevin (Terry) Boyd, Derek (Helen) Boyd, Lance (Tiffany) Boyd, Rosann (Steve) Tickle, Mimi (Mark) Ridpath, Patrick Pogue, Jeffrey (Peggy) Pogue, Vickey (Wendell) Pullen, Jane Love (Tim), Mark Dye, Michael (Kathy) Martin, Kenny Martin; siblings, Janice (Bill) Duke of Hendersonville and Bobby (Mary Lou) Dye of Culleoka; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sue Boyd, Donnie (Carol) Boyd of Mount Pleasant and Dr. Ernie (Shirley) Cube of Radford Virginia, and Charles Boyd of Mt. Pleasant.

Linda is preceded in her passing by her parents, sister Murlene Sue Dye Martin, her father-in-law and mother in-law Harold and Louise Boyd, sister-in-law Ruby Boyd, nephew Rodney Pogue, niece Natalie Boyd.

There will be a celebration of Linda’s life at Williams Funeral Home at 819 Main Street, Mount Pleasant, TN 38474 on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM with a funeral service to follow. Linda’s body will be interred in the Polk Memorial Gardens and her soul is with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
