Lilla Sutherland

November 10, 1940 — March 12, 2010

Mrs. Lilla "Cookie" Sutherland, age 69, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Friday, March 12th at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A Memorial service for Mrs. Sutherland will be conducted Tuesday March 16th, at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 until service at the funeral home.

Born November 10, 1940, Lilla was the daughter of the late George Floyd and Anna Ethel Knox Sutherland. Lilla was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and a graduate of Maury Beauty Academy. She worked for Kelly's Styling for many years and was a co-owner with her mother at Ma- Lady Beauty Lounge, also worked for Carousel Beauty Salon. Lilla loved all animals especially her cat Sammy. She was also a former volunteer at the Maury County Senior Citizens Center. Lilla's greatest accomplishment of her life was raising her son Scott Pundt by herself. She was always giving of herself and never expecting anything in return. Lilla was of Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her son, Scott Pundt of Columbia; Anna Page, Scott's girlfriend of Columbia; two brothers: William Carroll Sutherland of Hazel Green, AL and George Sutherland of Columbia; three nephews: William "Billy", Dennis and Barry; two nieces: Denise and Debbie. She was preceded in death by one niece, Carrie Vaughn.
