Liburn L. Carpenter

Liburn L. Carpenter, age 65, a resident of South Main Street in Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, August, 12th at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Carpenter will be conducted Friday, August 15 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy Kersey and Jim Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of late, Andy Liburn and Rebecca Beard Carpenter. He was the widower of Reba Ann Hines Carpenter. He was a self –employed mechanic in his younger years, before he became disabled. He was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ since 1962.Throughout his lifetime, he had a desire to help those in need and in his later years, Mr. Carpenter preached for the residents in area nursing homes.
He is survived by a daughter: Michelle Renee Mike Nance of Columbia; grandchildren: Cody John Howell of Mt. Pleasant and Megan Howell of Mt. Pleasant brothers and sisters: Harold W. Carpenter, Shirley Grady Chapman, both of Mt. Pleasant, Betty Jean Roberts of Hampshire, Charlie Ella Vaughn Carpenter, of Mt. Pleasant, Linda Faye Vernon Goodwin of Columbia, Paul Shelia Carpenter of Pulaski, Douglas Linda Carpenter of Mississippi, Rebecca Sue Carpenter of Mt. Pleasant and David Karen Carpenter of Summertown; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Donald Ray Carpenter.
Pallbearers will be Tom Jones, Charles Crotzer, Claude Brawner, Fred Brown, Anthony Davis, Austin Davis, Bobby England, Johnny Gibson and Charles Dozier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Carpenter, Douglas Carpenter, Charles Carpenter, David Carpenter, Paul Howard Carpenter and Michael Nance.
Memorials may be made to Locust Street Church of Christ, 108 South Locust Street, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
