Lewis Martin Attkisson

October 10, 1935 — April 17, 2003

Mr. Lewis Martin Attkisson, 67, a resident of Elk Ridge Road in the Watts Hill Community, died Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Attkisson will be conducted Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Randy McNeece officiating. Burial will be in the Watts Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late James F. and Lorene Cummins Attkisson. He was the husband of Margaret Ann Chapman Attkisson of the Watts Hill Community. He was a retired ironworker for Daniels Construction Company out of Greenville, South Carolina. He was a member of the Spencer Hill Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Stanage of Cornersville; five sons, Wade Jo Ann Attkisson of Summertown, James Dolly Attkisson of the Watts Hill Community, Kenny Dee Attkisson of Osage, KS, Ronnie Attkisson of the Watts Hill Community, and Donnie Carlos Attkisson of Summertown; a sister, Linda Davis of the Spencer Hill Community; a brother, Monroe Brenda Attkisson of Benton, MS; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Lanius; three brothers, Jerry Attkisson, Horace Attkisson, and Norris Attkisson.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Spencer Hill Church of Christ.
