Lester Potts

January 29, 1929 — October 20, 2007

Mr. Lester Potts, age 78, a resident of Fly Road in Santa Fe, passed away Saturday, October 20 at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. Potts will be conducted Tuesday, October 23 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Donny King and Bro. Gipson Baucum, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Santa Fe Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:30 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Oliver and Lillie B. Potts and husband of the late Margie Hill Potts. He retired as a truck driver for W.M. White construction and had worked for TVA. He enjoyed being in the company of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved so much. He attended Jones Valley Church of Christ.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Hocker and Dianne William Terry Roberts, both of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Stephanie Gipson Baucum of Acworth, GA, Brent Roberts, Brian Ginger Hocker and Brooke Hocker and fiancée, Sherman Patterson, all of Columbia; great grandchildren, Emily Claire Baucum and William Henry Baucum, both of Acworth, GA; a sister, Rachel Rhodes of Columbia; special friend, Delvene Beard of Santa Fe. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Ray, Isaac, Jack and Pellum Potts; 2 sisters, Lillie Phillips and Lora LeMay; mother-in-law, Genevieve Hill.

Pallbearers will be Mike Potts, Sherman Patterson, Brian Maxwell, Gary Maxwell, Gary Beard, Dean Adkisson, Eddie Waller and Jay Haywood. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Jones Valley Church of Christ and special friend, Clifton Scott.
